Personal projects

My current personal project is "Always August : Rituals".

My son August was officially diagnosed with autism this year. He has been receiving therapies and early intervention for over 2 years no, and I have slowly come to terms with knowing that his future may look a bit different than how I had imagined when he was still in my belly.

Autism is a tricky thing. There is no "one size fits all" diagnosis, the signs and symptoms vary from one person with autism to the next, and often times there are no real physical/outward markers that would alert people to that fact that a child may be acting a certain way because he has autism.

For the last two years, I have been documenting his special rituals in a photography project called "Always August : Rituals". This project has opened my eyes and helped me in so many ways.

You can read more about the project from my interview with the Huffington Post here, and my interview with Kidspot Australia here.

Projects

As an artist, I believe it is important to continue to make art for yourself in addition to making art for your clients. In order to do this, I have a few personal projects that are on-going... and once in a while I look for models to help some of my artistic visions come to life. If you are interested in being considered for one of my fine art projects, please contact me by using the form below.

Collaborations

Collaborating with other photographers and artists is a great way to grow the creative community, to inspire each other and to fuel creativity.  I am honored to take part in collaborations for varying projects. If you are interested in collaborating with me, please contact me.

Current Collaborations include: Cherish This Day, Life Theory Collective
